Can I schedule backups at a specific time or take manual backups?
TLDR; backups are taken automatically and there is no need to set up schedules or take manual backups on your end. More information can be found here.
How long is the backup data retained?
TLDR; we will retain everything that has been backed up ever since you starting backing up a particular Office 365 Organisation; provided that the account's Subscription is paid and active. More information can be found here.
Where are the backups stored?
The backup storage will be managed and provided by Altaro, which is covered in the monthly cost per mailbox. It is not possible to backup to any other location such as on-premise storage locations.
The backups are saved to a secure cloud backup location on Altaro's Microsoft Azure infrastructure, which is located in the Netherlands, West Europe region. No need to worry about having to set up your own servers to save backups to.
How is it billed?
There's a minimum annual subscription of 10 mailboxes, for a minimum of 1 year - you can scale to tens of thousands of mailboxes. Visit the pricing calculator in order to calculate the price for your mailboxes.
Discounts apply when purchasing a subscription of 2 years or more.
MSPs (Managed Service Providers)
Billing is based on the number of Mailboxes which are backed up per month, with a minimum of 30 mailboxes per month applies with no binding contracts.
You can use the service for fewer mailboxes, but the minimum monthly fee is for 30 mailboxes. Volume discounts apply, you can contact email@example.com for more information.
Can I archive or delete a mailbox backup?
Yes, if you choose [Remove Mailbox from Subscription & Delete Backup Data], all data for that mailbox will be completely deleted and you won't be billed for that mailbox any longer.
If you choose [Disable Backups for this Mailbox], there won't be any further backups for that mailbox thereby archiving it. You will continue to be billed for this mailbox.

Supported Office365 Subscription Plans
We support Microsoft Office 365 Business Essentials, Business, Business Premium, E1, E3 and E5 plans. Microsoft Office Pro Plus, Exchange Online Plan 1 / 2 and F1 (Kiosk) are accepted given that there is a mix of Office 365 supported subscriptions. If Office 365 plan does not support specific features such as SharePoint or OneDrive, we cannot back up that specific feature from the Backup Source.
